Marisa Neuhaus

Marisa Neuhaus, who has been a veterinary assistant at Mandak Veterinary Services since Oct. 2021, always knew she wanted to work with animals, despite not having any pets until she was in middle school.

Marisa grew up in Rotterdam, NY, attending Schalmont High School. She went on to attend Russel Sage College where she got a bachelor’s degree in Biology. She then got a Master of Business, which she finished in the spring of 2022.

During college, Marisa worked at a doggy daycare, then at a shelter, and later through a mutual friend, was able to get a job at Mandak while she was finishing her master’s degree.

Marisa’s family includes her parents, grandparents, and her boyfriend Josh. She enjoys reading, relaxing at the beach, and fishing with Josh. Marisa and her mom also enjoy going to Zumba together and watching TV together at the end of the day to relax.

Her pets include her “17-year-old senior soulmate,” Jack, who is a Jack Russel/Rat Terrier cross, Gizmo, a beagle chihuahua mix, Ranger, a German Shorthair Pointer, and her fish, Shubby.

Marisa’s favorite part of working in the veterinary field is that she gets to help animals and continues to learn about them.

She says that the things she enjoys the most about Mandak are the people, and how appreciated they all make her feel.
